Almaden Farms Show Results

What a week!

We took six horses to the Almaden Farms show run by the Let's Show organization. They always put on a fun show with lots of fun classes for everyone and this show was no different.

Kingston - Kingston and I stepped up into the 1.15m ring for the first time. I haven't had much time to jump him lately so I was a little nervous, especially considering his history. He was a rockstar. We won the 1.15m class on Friday and were 8th in the Julie Grey Jumper Classic on Saturday night. Then he took Kathryn to a 4th place finish in the .85m and a 1st and 7th place in the .90m. Best of all, he was so honest and kind.

Cloud - Lauren and Cloud have been working really hard since winter and their hard work is starting to show through. They ended with two 2nds, a 3rd, 5th, and 6th in the .75m jumpers. Both got better and better throughout the show and ended the last day with a really lovely 2nd place round in the .75m.

Fiora - Fiora and I rode in our first 3'3 Performance Hunter classes and ended Reserve Champion in the division. Then Melanie piloted her to the Reserve Champion of the Maiden Equitation division, including a first over fences. She also trucked around in the Pre-Training jumpers for the first time and ended third.

Comedy - This was Comedy's first sleep-away show and Carley did a great job. He was a little fresh the first couple of days but by the end, he jumped around the jumpers like a hunter. Carley ended with a 3rd in the .75m and a 5th and 6th in the .80m.

Toffee - I just love this pony! Amy had a very successful outing at her first away show. She brought home several firsts but also ended Champion in both the Beginning Jumper division and the Pre-Training Jumper division.

Allie - Anneliese did an excellent job stepping up into the .90m ring after a slow and rocky winter. Anneliese laid down lovely trips to end 4th in the .90m, 7th in a competitive C&N Tractor round, and 8th in the $1000 Blanchette Jumper Special.

While ribbons are a great measure of our progress, it is not the whole point of the show. I was greatly impressed with the team work and attitude every one of my riders showed throughout the weekend. Watching the girls help get each other ready, learn courses together, support one another through good and bad rounds, was really the highlight to my weekend.

In addition, I have to say my show parents are the best around. Helpful, resourceful, entertaining, positive, and kind. If you have to spend a week of twelve hours days with a group of people, this is the group you would want to do that with.

So a big thank you to everyone who made this last weekend an absolute blast! Can't wait for the next one! :)
